Rifugio Biella (2327m) to Rifugio Fanes (2060m)
- Distance: 13.5 km
- Time: 6.5 hours
- Ascent: 467m
- Descent: 836m
- Steps: 22577
Refugio Fanes had been modernized so we had 2-bed rooms (the only refugio to do this) and a large drying room, which we needed as we ascended the last bit from Refugio Pederu in a thunderstorm and got soaked. A fairly generous common eating area where we could have a few beers before dinner and a good breakfast before heading off. Most of the refugios offered packed lunches, but we only opted for these when there were no other options.
